Texans waive kicker Randy Bullock, sign Nick Novak
The Houston Texans have made a switch at kicker, waiving Randy Bullock and signing veteran Nick Novak.
The team announced the move Tuesday. Novak joins the active roster immediately. Bullock had missed two extra points in Houston's first three games in addition to a 43-yard field goal last week against Tampa Bay. He is the only kicker to miss more than one extra point so far this season.
Bullock was a 2012 fifth-round selection out of Texas A&M and was 56–70 on field goal attempts and 66–66 on extra points the past two seasons after spending his rookie year on injured reserve.
Novak spent the past four years with the Chargers and has converted 81.6 percent of his career field goals (120–147) in parts of eight NFL seasons. He has only missed one extra point in his career.
