Alex Smith's touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers ended a 21-game streak during which the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback did not throw a single touchdown pass to a wide receiver.

Maclin's third quarter, five-yard reception was Smith's first touchdown pass to a receiver since Dec. 8, 2013.

Smith's pass capped an 11-play drive spanning 80-yards to narrow the deficit to 17 points, but the Chiefs ultimately fell to the Packers 38–28 in the Week 3 matchup.

While Smith has certainly struggled to connect with a wideout for a touchdown pass during the 19-game stretch, the 11-year NFL veteran has still been effective. The former No. 1 overall pick out of Utah had thrown 27 touchdowns to players at other positions, while tossing just nine interceptions throughout the streak.

Smith finished the night 24 for 40 with 290 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Packers move to 3–0, while the Chiefs fall to 1–2.
