Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) out vs. Jaguars
Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will miss Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a lingering right ankle injury, the team announced Friday.
Clowney, who missed practice all week, sustained the injury in the first half of the Texans’ Oct. 8 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He later returned to the game.
The 22-year-old has 12 tackles, three passes defended and a forced fumble in four starts this season.
Clowney, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, played in four games as a rookie last year before undergoing season-ending microfracture surgery on his right knee.
The Texans (1–4) will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars (1–4) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
