Steelers QB Mike Vick leaves game for second time after hamstring injury
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mike Vick left Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a right hamstring injury and is questionable to return, the team announced.
It’s the second time the Steelers’ signalcaller has left. Late in the second quarter, Vick was kneed in the head by Cardinals linebacker Kevin Minter as he dove to the ground after a 10-yard scramble, but missed just one play. The Steelers said that Vick had nothing more than dirt in his eye.
Reserve Landry Jones has since entered the game, throwing an 8-yard touchdown pass to Martavis Bryant to give Pittsburgh a 12–10 lead.
The Steelers already lost starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to an MCL injury and bone bruise in Week 3, and are now down to their third-string quarterback in Jones.
Vick entered the game having completed 63.8% of his passes over four games for 365 yards and two touchdowns, adding 52 yards on the ground on 15 carries.
He left having completed 3 of 8 passes for just 6 yards, collecting 47 more on the ground.
