Titans QB Marcus Mariota will start against Saints
Marcus Mariota will return from his knee injury and start for the Tennessee Titans against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Titans interim head coach Mike Mularkey announced Friday.
Mariota missed the past two games after spraining his left MCL on Oct. 18 against the Miami Dolphins. He will replace Zach Mettenberger in the lineup, and will reportedly wear a brace on his knee after participating in practice this week.
The No. 2 pick in this year’s draft has thrown for 1,239 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 64% of his passes for the Titans. He has been sacked 19 times.
The Titans are 1–6 and in last place in the AFC South. Tennessee fired head coach Ken Whisenhunt on Tuesday.
