Report: Giants to re-sign WR Hakeem Nicks with Victor Cruz out for season
In the wake of news that wide receiver Victor Cruz is set to undergo season-ending calf surgery, the New York Giants will reportedly re-sign Hakeem Nicks, sources told Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports
The Giants have kept Nicks on their short list of options if the team’s wide receiver depth chart dwindled. Now with Cruz, who has not seen any action this season, out with his calf injury, the Giants are giving Nicks another shot.
Nicks, 27, was selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. He signed five-year deal, playing with the team until 2013 when his contract expired. The free agent then signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts in March of 2014. Nicks made only 38 receptions for 405 yards and four touchdowns that season.
Nicks signed a one-year contract with the Titans in April, but was released from the team at the beginning of September before the season opener.
