Damontre Moore on fellow Aggie Johnny Manziel: ‘he’ll get it together’
New York Giants defensive end Damontre Moore voiced his support for former Texas A&M teammate Johnny Manziel on SI Now Tuesday.
Manziel was benched by Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine after video surfaced over the weekend of Manziel partying.
“When I tell you he’s one of the best [people], and he’s a really good team guy, he really is,” Moore said.
“It’s just one of those things where I guess experience is going to have to be the best teacher. I think he’ll get it together, because it happened in college, and he managed to shake that off and win the Heisman, and become a great team leader, so, I feel like he can do it again. I’m still behind him, and I support him.”
Manziel, who spent ten weeks in rehab over the summer, took over the starting job two weeks ago. He’s now listed as the team’s No. 3 quarterback, behind Josh McCown and Austin Davis.
The Browns host the Ravens on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
