Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Ricetold the Dan Patrick Show that he is continuing to push for a return to the NFL.

”I do want to play football again, and I’m not ready to give up,” Rice said.

Rice, 28, last appeared in a game in Week 4 of the 2014 NFL season for Baltimore. In his six seasons with the Ravens, he made three Pro Bowl teams and was a member of the Super Bowl XLVII winning team.

Watch a clip of Rice’s interview with Patrick below:

Rice was cut by the Ravens after video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancée Janay Palmer and then dragging her out of an elevator in an Atlantic City casino.

Rice says that he is staying in shape with the hope of earning an invitation to an NFL training camp next season.

“I feel like there’s a voice missing,” Rice told Patrick. “Why wouldn’t you want somebody who’s been through the fire?”

Rice will turn 29 next month.
