Giants LB Devon Kennard placed on injured reserve
The New York Giants placed linebacker Devon Kennard on injured reserve Monday, ending his season and making room for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on the roster.
Kennard has not played since Week 12 while dealing with hamstring and foot injuries. He also missed playing time earlier this season, sitting two games in early November.
Kennard started in the nine games he played in, tallying 52 tackles and an interception.
The move clears the way for Beckham to suit up against the Philadelphia Eagles in the final week of the season. Beckham served a one-game suspension after multiple rules violations related to on-field incidents with Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman in Week 15.
Beckham has hauled in 91 receptions for 1,396 yards and 13 touchdowns in his second NFL season.
