Report: Chip Kelly meets with 49ers about head coaching job
Former Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly met with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, reports Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.
The Eagles fired Kelly before their final game of the season. Kelly led Philadelphia to a 26–21 record in nearly three full seasons as head coach, and has expressed his desire to stay in coaching.
Kelly reportedly reached out to the 49ers shortly after they fired first-year head coach Jim Tomsula to communicate his interest in the job.
In addition to meeting with Kelly, the 49ers have also reportedly met with Buffalo Bills running backs coach Anthony Lynn and have a meeting scheduled with Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo for Friday, according to ESPN.
