The news comes less than a week after reports indicated ownership had given Whaley and head coach Red Ryan a one-year ultimatum to get the team to the playoffs. Buffalo went 8–8 in 2015 and missed the postseason for a 16th straight year.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Whaley signed a multi-year deal.

Whaley has been the general manager of the Bills since May 2013 and had one year remaining on his deal. Ryan is under contract for four more seasons.
