Report: Vontaze Burfict facing suspension for Antonio Brown hit
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is facing a suspension for a hit to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown during Saturday’s game.
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is facing a suspension for a hit to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown during Saturday’s game, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Burfict came in high as Brown was trying to make a catch across the middle, hitting the receivers’ helmet with his shoulder pad. Brown was forced to leave the game after the hit and was later diagnosed with a concussion.
The flag on that hit, along with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty an cornerback Adam Jones, set up Pittsburgh’s game-winning field goal. The loss was the Bengals’ eighth-straight playoff defeat.
Burfict was already fined $69,454 for a low hit on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in Week 14, and this will likely add to the case for suspension.
