Patriots’ Gronkowski, Edelman, Amendola all active vs. Chiefs
Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are all listed as active for Saturday’s game vs. the Chiefs, the team announced.
Gronkowski, sat out of the team’s last workout prior to Saturday’s game with a knee injury. The tight end sustained the injury in New England’s 30–24 overtime loss against Denver Broncos on Nov. 29. An updated injury report for the team also listed that he had a back injury. Gronkowski has led the team in receiving this season, recording 72 catches for 1,176 yards and 11 touchdowns.
On Monday, Edelman was reportedly cleared to play against Kansas City. The wide receiver broke his left foot in the Patriots’ Week 10 victory over the New York Giants and underwent surgery shortly after. Edelman missed eight regular season games for New England this season, but still recorded 692 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Amendola has dealt with a knee injury this season, and was listed as questionable heading into Saturday’s game. The wide receiver has 65 catches for 648 yards and three touchdowns.
Linebacker Dont’a Hightower was also listed as active.
