Todd Gurley, Marcus Peters win PFWA Rookie of the Year honors
Rams running back Todd Gurley and Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters were named the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year by the PFWA.
Rams running back Todd Gurley and Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters were named the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America on Tuesday.
Gurley, who was also named the top overall rookie, led all first-year players with 1,106 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 13 games after returning from the torn ACL he sustained at Georgia. After seeing limited action in his NFL debut on Sept. 27, the 21-year-old rushed for over 125 yards in four consecutive games.

Peters made 60 tackles for the 11–5 Chiefs, adding eight interceptions and one forced fumble. In two playoff games for Kansas City, he made nine total tackles and defended three passes.
