Tom Brady to be replaced by Jameis Winston in Pro Bowl
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be replaced in the Pro Bowl by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, the Bucs announced Monday.
Winston, the top pick in the 2015 draft out of Florida State, passed for 4,042 yards and 22 touchdowns in his rookie season. He became just the third rookie in league history to eclipse 4,000 yards through the air.
The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner was also named to the PFWA’s All-Rookie team for his performance this season.
Brady, an 11-time Pro Bowl selection, opted out of the annual exhibition game after his team’s 20–18 loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
