Watch: Cam Newton dominates in high school highlights
Long before he was vying for his first MVP award or Super Bowl title, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was lighting it up for Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga.
As a junior, Newton passed for 2,500 yards and 23 scores, and also ran for 638 yards and nine touchdowns. His senior season was much the same, as he was rated a four-star quarterback by Scout.com and one of the nation’s top dual-threat quarterbacks.
After stints at the University of Florida and Blinn Junior College, Newton went on to win the Heisman Trophy and lead Auburn University to a national title.
