Cam Newton predicted Panthers’ shot at Super Bowl title six months ago
Six months ago, no one knew which two teams would make it to Super Bowl 50, but Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made a promise that he would put himself in the position to win a championship.
On Friday, Under Armour revealed a video of Newton speaking to the company’s summer interns about what he wanted to accomplish as an athlete.
“I don’t have a Super Bowl ring, but I guarantee you, this year, next year, year after that, I will be putting myself in the rankings to win a Super Bowl,” Newton said.
Now, Newton is just days away from making his prediction a reality.
The quarterback has had a stellar season, throwing for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns to lead his team to a 15–1 record.
The Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday for a chance at a Super Bowl ring.
