Report: Marshawn Lynch tells people he plans to retire
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been telling people close to him that he will retire, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
According to Schefter, Seahawks teammates are actively trying to convince Lynch, 29, to return next season. However, Lynch has already informed the team that he intends to step away from the game.
After rushing for over 1,000 yards in four straight seasons for the Seahawks, Lynch carried the ball just 111 times for 417 yards in 2015. He played in seven games while dealing with hamstring and abdominal injuries.

Lynch is entering the second season of a three-year, $31 million contract with Seattle. $11.5 million would come off the Seahawks’ books if he does retire.
