Report: Redskins re-sign LB Junior Galette
The Washington Redskins have re-signed linebacker Junior Galette to a one-year deal, reports ESPN’s John Keim.
Galette was under contract with the Redskins last season, but missed all of 2015 after tearing his Achilles during a practice before the regular season.
In his final two years with the Saints, Galette was one of the premier pass rushers in the league, recording 22 sacks over a two-season span. However, he was released by New Orleans last summer after a video surfaced in which Galette allegedly struck a woman with a belt. Galette had already been arrested earlier in 2015 after a domestic violence incident, though those chargers were dropped, and an ensuing civil suit was dismissed.
Galette served a two-game suspension for the arrest while he was on injured reserve last year. The linebacker wanted another one-year deal, reports Keim, so he can prove to potential suitors in the future he is still a capable pass rusher.

Galette will turn 28 later this month. He has 31 1/2 career sacks.
