The Houston Texans plan to trade or cut quarterback Brian Hoyer, reports NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
The news comes in the wake of Houston signing quarterback Brock Osweiler earlier this month.
Hoyer, 30, started nine games for the Texans in 2015, his first season with Houston, completing 61% of his passes for 2,606 yards and 19 touchdowns. Before joining the Texans, Hoyer spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, one with the Arizona Cardinals and three with the New England Patriots.
As a starter, Hoyer accumulated a 15–10 record over the past three seasons.
He is due $4 million in base salary for 2016.
