Coaches with the most to prove: Chuck Pagano
He may have just gotten a contract extension, but Chuck Pagano’s margin for error is down to almost zero.
Colts owner Jim Irsay spared Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson after last season’s disappointing 8–8 finish, tying the fates of both men together with contract extensions through 2019. That doesn’t lessen the urgency of 2016 in Indianapolis, where Andrew Luck’s return to full health takes away the biggest excuse for last season’s shortcomings. The Colts expect to be playing for Super Bowls, and now that they can’t sleepwalk through the AFC South anymore, Pagano’s margin for error is down to almost zero. — Eric Single
