Free-agent cornerback Brandon Boykin may have a career-threatening hip injury, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette.
Boykin, 25, was signed and released by the Carolina Panthers this off-season after spending the 2015 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, during which he recorded 25 tackles, one sack and one interception. Boykin made visits with the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons following his release.
The former Georgia Bulldog has played in 64 games with seven starts since being selected in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he spent the first three seasons of his professional career.
