The Top 15 Defensive Linemen in Football

J.J. Watt and a whole lot of rising stars fill out the ranking of football’s best on the defensive line, the NFL’s deepest position

Did you know J.J. Watt’s real name is Justin? I do; it’s right there on Wikipedia, where I read it with my own eyes. And that’s possibly the only thing I can tell you that you might not already know about J.J. Watt, who tops our countdown of the best defensive linemen in football.

Oh, and spoiler alert in regards to the above paragraph.

So this week, Andy and I spent most of our time focusing on Nos. 2 through 15 of our countdown, whether or not to buy on Ndamukong Suh, the underratedness of Linval Joseph, Jurrell Casey: Roly-Poly Star, why Carolina has to figure out a way to sign Kawann Short long-term, and those oh-so-small imperfections in Aaron Donald’s otherwise brilliant game. As always, Andy knows this stuff as well as anyone on this world wide web, so there’s plenty to learn.

Also, we tried a new format this week. The entire show is the countdown and mailbag questions are sprinkled in (rather than an around-the-league segment, then the mailbag, then the position ranking). Let us know if it’s the greatest idea in the history of mankind. Or if you hate it and your soul has been crushed. And yes, it has to be one or the other.

Here’s your weekly reminder to do stuff that benefits me and Andy.
