The Denver Broncos have made a new offer to star linebacker Von Miller, the Denver Postreports.
Miller, last season’s Super Bowl MVP, is currently under the team’s franchise tag but has yet to sign his $14.1 million, one-year contract. He has made his desire for a new contract public. The two sides are reportedly negotiating over guaranteed money and hoping to get a deal done before a 2 p.m. deadline on July 15.
Miller has skipped off-season workouts so far. The two sides have reportedly settled on six years, $114.5 million, but continue to hash out the contract’s structure.
Denver’s first offer included $38.5 million in guaranteed money up front. The Post reports Miller likely wants upward of $60 million guaranteed.
Miller, 27, made 35 combined tackles last season and recorded 11 sacks last season, helping lead the Broncos to a championship. He is entering his sixth NFL season.
