Darius Slay, Lions agree to four-year extension
Cornerback Darius Slay has agreed to a lucrative extension with the Lions.
Darius Slay has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Lions, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Slay’s new deal is reportedly worth $50.2 million, with $23 million in guaranteed dollars.
The 25-year-old emerged as Detroit’s top cornerback last season and has started every game the past two seasons, defending 13 passes and making two interceptions last year.
Mlive.com reports the two sides have been negotiating since Super Bowl week. Slay hired agent Drew Rosenhaus in January and under his new deal ranks seventh at his position in guaranteed money, according to NFL.com.
Rosenhaus confirmed the news on Twitter on Friday.
