Michael Bennett kicked out of Seahawks practice
Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett butted heads with teammates and coach Pete Carroll on Thursday, spending the last leg of Seattle’s practice watching from the sidelines after being kicked out of drills.
Multiple reports indicated Bennett mixed it up with Seattle’s offensive line between plays, and that things got contentious enough that he had to be restrained by his linemates. The famously outspoken and sometimes brash Bennett sat out the rest of the day, and reportedly engaged in another shouting match with offensive linemen.
“(The team's passion is) translating into sometimes we lose a little bit of the poise that we need,” Carroll said after practice. “We can't play like that. You get in a skirmish, you get thrown out. That's what happens. So that happened today. And that's just the way you do it, the way we do it.”
The 30-year-old Bennett was a Pro Bowler last season, registering 10 sacks.
