Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham uncertain for season opener
Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham could miss the team’s season opener as he continues to recover from surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon in his right leg.
Head coach Pete Carroll said during an interview on 950 KJR-AM in Seattle that Graham’s rehabilitation is going well, but he is still unsure if the tight end will be on the field for Week 1.
“I’m not calling that yet,” Carroll said. “Not until we really cut him loose in practice, which next week is going to be a really important week for him. He had a great week this week. He had his best day yesterday, really a big workload and he handled everything and feels really good coming out of that. So we’ll see.”
Graham has not participated in full team workouts since being taken off the physically unable to perform list two weeks ago.
Despite the challenge players typically encounter in recovering from that particular type of injury, Carroll does not think Graham will have any issues once he returns.

“I don’t think he’s going to be any different at all when he comes back," Carroll said. "He’s worked too hard."
Graham played in 11 games last season before sustaining the injury. Over the course of his career, he has recorded 5,357 yards for 53 touchdowns.
