Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is “doubtful” for this Sunday’s game against the Texans as he continues to recover from the torn ACL he sustained last October, coach Andy Reid said Friday.
Charles, who didn’t play in Week 1, has been working with the scout team in practice. One of his teammates, Derrick Johnson, said this week that Charles was almost fully healthy.
Spencer Ware has filled in nicely for Charles since the injury, putting up 199 total yards in a Week 1 win over the Chargers. He will likely get the nod in Week 2, with Charcandrick West continuing to mix in.
