Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been released after his DUI arrest on Friday morning

Sefarian-Jenkins tweeted a thank you to Tampa Bay ahead of the team’s official announcement.

He was arrested Friday morning, charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Seferian-Jenkins was jailed after being pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol around 4 a.m. Friday for traveling at 75-80 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was booked two hours later at the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa.

Police say he was weaving back and forth and executed an improper lane change. He also refused a breathalyzer test once at the county jail.

Seferian-Jenkins pleaded guilty to a DUI charge in 2013 while at the University of Washington. Police also charged Seferian-Jenkins with a violation of an Ignition Interlock Device restriction, stemming from that 2013 arrest.

A second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft, Seferian-Jenkins has three catches for 44 yards and one touchdown this season for Tampa Bay (1–1). In three NFL seasons, he has 45 catches for 603 yards and seven touchdowns.

Tampa Bay's home opener is on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
