Former Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was indicted on a felony count of cocaine possession, according to court records obtained by USA Today.
Hardy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in September, carrying less than a gram of cocaine. He is now facing a jail sentence of up to two years and a $10,000 fine under Texas state law.
The 28-year-old spent the first five seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers, making the Pro Bowl in 2013, before signing with Dallas in 2015.
He was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2014 and threatening to kill her, but she failed to appear in court and the charges were dropped.
