Ravens receiver Steve Smith records 1,000th career reception
Ravens receiver Steve Smith now has the 13th-most receptions in NFL history.
Ravens receiver Steve Smith Sr. passed a major milestone in Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, recording his 1,000th career reception.
The milestone grab was a 22-yard catch deep over the middle on the first play of the second half.
Smith, 37, entered the game with 997 receptions in his 16 NFL seasons.
Smith’s 999th catch was an impressive one, dragging his feet near the sideline to secure possession.
With his 1,000th catch, Smith tied former Steelers receiver Hines Ward for 13th place on the all-time list. Isaac Bruce is next with 1,024 receptions, and Jerry Rice still holds the career record at 1,549.
Smith missed two games earlier this season with an ankle injury but returned in Week 9.
