At the Cowboys’ behest, the NFL is investigating the Giants’ use of walkie-talkies on the sidelines, the New York Postreports.

The league is investigating whether or not the Giants broke the rules when head coach Ben McAdoo used the device to call plays and communicate with quarterback Eli Manning during New York’s 10–7 win over Dallas on Sunday. Manning’s headset malfunctioned in the fourth quarter, causing the Giants to switch communication methods. Dallas filed a formal request for the NFL to investigate.

NFL rules say teams must cut off communication with their quarterback once there are 15 seconds left on the play clock. The league is unable to monitor walkie-talkie usage, which left a bit of a gray area.

“See iI don’t know when he was on the walkie-talkie or not,’’ Manning said this week, according to the Post. “I just knew it was back in my ear, and we were going.”
