New Orleans Bars Will Air Saints’ Super Bowl Win Instead of Rams-Patriots

Some Saints fans can’t even bear to watch the Super Bowl.

Football fans at some New Orleans bars will settle in a week from Sunday to watch the Super Bowl, with Drew Brees and the Saints taking on Peyton Manning and the Colts in Miami.

Yes, some Saints supporters are still so incensed about the pass interference non-call against the Rams last weekend that they’re refusing to watch Los Angeles take on the Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl.

Counterprogramming includes a Super Bowl Sunday music festival called “Boycott Bowl” and “a handful of bars and restaurants say they will refuse to air” Super Bowl LIII, according to The Advocate.

Usually, fans of a team that got screwed would be content rooting against the team that benefited from their misfortune. In this case that would mean rooting for the Patriots, so this is probably the best approach.
