Amazon Releases Self-Aware Super Bowl Commercial on Rejected Voice Activated Devices
Amazon is typically a place where we can buy anything we need to help solve our problems. Despite being our solution, the brand's 2019 Super Bowl commercial explores a couple of times that their ideas for Alexa products didn't turn out quite as planned.
The commercial starts out with the two people raving over the Alexa Microwave, which is a real product. A few celebrities make cameos to showcase similar ideas that didn't make the cut.
Forest Whitaker learns that listening to a podcast on his electric toothbrush isn't so easy. Harrison Ford gets aggravated with his Alexa dog collar that keeps ordering food every time his dog barks. Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson from Broad City try to relax in a hot tub that looks like a life-sized Alexa Echo Dot, but that turns out to be one of the biggest fails. The mishaps only get worse as NASA's Mark and Scott Kelly accidentally shut down Earth's electricity from a space station.
Check out the commercial to see for yourself.
Hopefully the Super Bowl doesn't have any major malfunctions this year like the time the Superdome lost power in Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.
This year's big game features a matchup between the Patriots and Rams, with kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 3.
