It's been two years since CBS took a risk and hired Tony Romo as the studio's lead analyst for its NFL broadcasts. Now Romo is now preparing to call his first-ever Super Bowl when the network airs Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Romo, who was hired by CBS in 2017, received ample praise for his analysis during this year's AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year commentator was complimented for predicting every play correctly before the snap while still making analysis easy for viewers to consume. The early success is why Romo is expected to get a significant raise from CBS to remain with the network.

With Super Bowl LIII less than a week away, here are some of Romo's best calls so far in his young broadcasting career.

5. Tom Brady's argument with Josh McDaniels: Dec. 3, 2017

Any other commentator probably would've noted something short about Tom Brady's heated sideline exchange with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and then moved on. Romo took it another level, narrating the exchange exactly (not really) as it went down.

4. Tony Romo's broadcasting debut: Sept. 10, 2017

CBS Sports producer Jim Rikhoff told Romo to be himself on air. Romo was indeed himself in his broadcasting debut, and he impressed from the get-go. He called a run from the Raiders on fourth down, diagnosed zone coverages before plays started and added his own personality throughout it all.

3. JuJu Smith-Schuster's game-losing fumble vs. Saints: Dec. 23, 2018

The best part of having Romo in the booth? He loves football, too. Romo can't contain his reaction to this fantastic finish in New Orleans with Pittsburgh's playoff hopes on the line.

2. Saints heads-up touchdown pass vs. Patriots: Sept. 17, 2017

Romo simply could not have called this more perfectly.

1. AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Chiefs, Jan. 20, 2019

On the biggest broadcast stage thus far, Romo's legend as an announcer grew. Romo dazzled viewers by forecasting every play-call correctly, especially at key moments down the stretch. It's hard to remember any other analyst in any sport who generated such a strong performance in the booth.
