Rams linebacker Clay Matthews is out "at least a month" due to a broken jaw, the team announced

Matthews broke his jaw in the Rams' 30-29 loss to the Seahawks on Thursday. Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay said Seahawks running back Chris Carson kicked Matthews in the facemask late in the fourth quarter, breaking the linebacker's jaw.

The USC product signed a two-year deal with Los Angeles in March. Matthews signed with the Rams after spending the first 10 years of his career in Green Bay. He totaled 19 tackles and six sacks in his first five games with the Rams in 2019.

Los Angeles fell to third in the NFC West at 3–2 following Thursday's loss. The Rams will host San Francisco in Week 6 on Oct. 13, with kickoff from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum slated for 4:05 p.m. ET.
