The Jets medically cleared quarterback Sam Darnold to play against the Cowboys in Week 6, the team announced on Tuesday.

Darnold has missed the last three games due to mononucleosis. He will start for the Jets when they host Dallas on Sunday.

New York is 0–4 in 2019. The Jets lost to the Bills in Week 1, Darnold's lone start this season. Backup quarterback Trevor Siemian started in Week 2 against Cleveland, but the Northwestern product suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the second quarter.

Rookie Luke Falk is 0–2 as the Jets starter. He has not thrown a touchdown in 73 attempts while tossing three interceptions.

Darnold threw for 2,865 yards in 13 starts for the Jets as a rookie last season. The No. 3 pick in the 2018 NFL draft threw 15 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2019.
