Raiders OT Trent Brown Accused of Domestic Violence in Lawsuit
A lawsuit filed in Alameda County (Calif.) Superior Court accuses Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown of multiple acts of domestic violence against his girlfriend, according to ESPN.
Diorra Marzette-Sanders accuses Brown of slapping, punching and choking her on multiple occasions dating back to 2018. ESPN reports a police report was filed after an incident in June 2019 when Brown allegedly left her bloodied and bruised after slapping her. In a March 2019 incident, Brown reportedly grabbed her face and choked her out until she couldn't breathe, which left "a ring of bruises around her neck."
Marzette-Sanders' lawsuit also claims that Brown threatened to shoot her if she left with their child following a dispute.
The lawsuit is requesting a jury trial and is seeking unspecified compensation including punitive damages.
In March, the Raiders signed Brown to a four-year deal worth a record-setting $66 million with $36.75 million guaranteed. Brown was a seventh-round draft pick by the 49ers in 2015 and played the first three years of his career there before joining the Patriots and winning a Super Bowl last season.
Brown could be subject to discipline from the league under the personal conduct policy.
