The Jaguars (2-4) suffered a 13-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints last Sunday when Minshew, who took over in the second quarter of Jacksonville’s season opener after Nick Foles suffered a broken left clavicle, failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in five starts.

Jacksonville’s wide receiver tandem of Dede Westbrook and D.J. Chark were largely neutralized by the Saints’ secondary, combining for just six catches and 96 yards on 15 passes thrown their way. Chark, though, is still third in the league with 522 receiving yards and tied for second with five touchdown catches.

Leonard Fournette is third in the league with 584 rushing yards but most of the 72 he accumulated versus the Saints were inconsequential. Only one of his 20 carries resulted in a first down, and that came on his best run of the day of 16 yards.

Cincinnati is looking to avoid its first 0-7 start since 2008 after failing to slow down Baltimore in a 23-17 road defeat last Sunday. The Bengals allowed 497 yards as Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson exposed their lack of defensive speed both on the ground and through the air. Jackson accounted for 152 of Baltimore’s 269 rushing yards and threw for another 236 as the Ravens converted 9 of 15 third down plays and had possession for nearly 40 minutes.

Cincinnati ranks 31st in total defense with 426 yards allowed per game and is dead last against the run at 184.5 per contest. Opponents have 11 rushes of 20 or more yards -- no other team has yielded more than six -- and the nine rushing touchdowns allowed by the Bengals is also a league-worst.

Jacksonville snapped a four-game losing streak in the series with a 23-7 victory in the most recent meeting in 2017. The Bengals are 6-4 all-time at home versus the Jaguars.
