Panthers QB Kyle Allen to Start Sunday vs. Titans
Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen will start on Sunday for the sixth-straight game when Carolina hosts the Titans, head coach Ron Rivera announced on Tuesday. Allen will remain in place as Cam Newton continues to recover from a foot injury.
The Texas A&M product suffered his first career loss as a starting quarterback on Sunday in a 51–13 defeat to the 49ers. Allen finished the game with only 158 passing yards, having thrown the first three interceptions of the season.
Newton is "in the middle of his rehab," according to Rivera, and has yet to return to the practice field.
The 4–3 Panthers sit 2 1/2 games behind the Saints for first place in the NFC South.
Kickoff for Panthers vs. Titans is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.
