Report: Bengals to Bench QB Andy Dalton, Start Rookie Ryan Finley
The Bengals will reportedly bench quarterback Andy Dalton following the team's bye week, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Rookie Ryan Finley, who Cincinnati selected in the fourth round of the 2019 draft out of North Carolina State, is expected to start, reports Pelissero.
The Bengals have started the season 0–8 and are in last place in the AFC North. Dalton started the year throwing for 418 yards against the Seahawks but threw a season-high three interceptions against the Jaguars in Week 7.
Dalton is in his ninth season with the Bengals, who drafted him in the second round in 2011. The team has reached the playoffs five times as the Wild Card during Dalton's tenure as starting QB but lost every year.
Cincinnati has a bye in Week 9 before facing the Ravens on Nov. 10.
