Deshaun Watson Gives Lamar Jackson 'MVP' Jersey in Postgame Swap
Sunday’s matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans was billed as one of the best games of the regular season. And while the eventual contest—a 41-7 win by the Ravens—was a blowout, the matchup still pitted two of the most exciting quarterbacks in football against each other.
Following the game, Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson swapped jerseys with Baltimore's Lamar Jackson. Watson made sure to applaud Jackson’s current performance, writing:
“To: LJ8
Keep going fam!
Always Love!
100!
MVP”
“He’s like a brother to me, I’m proud of him,” the Texans QB said after the game.
The last time Watson and Jackson faced off against one another was in college when Watson’s Clemson team outlasted Jackson’s Louisville squad 42-36 in an instant classic.
But Jackson got the better of Watson on Sunday, finishing the game 17-of-24 for 222 passing yards and four touchdowns while adding 86 yards on the ground. Watson threw for only 169 yards and one interception in the loss.
