Fox Updates Score Bug, Graphics for Super Bowl LVII

The broadcast looks and sounds a bit different than in year’s past.

Fox’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVII looks and sounds a little different than years past, with the most obvious change being an updated score bug and new graphics—something that has become a tradition of sorts for networks during Super Bowl broadcasts.

The typical Fox score bug is thin, and the clock (along with the down and distance) are below each team’s scores and logo. The new score bug is far thicker, taking up more room on the screen vertically. The game clock, play clock and down and distance are all on top of the team’s logos.

The broadcast will also sound different, with Greg Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt on the call instead of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, who signed with ESPN this past offseason.

“They both have a sense of the game, and I think both are really good at not fighting the crowd when the moment gets big and the noise builds to a crescendo,” Fox television producer Richie Zyontz told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “Joe Buck was brilliant at that, and these guys are great at it, too. It’s kind of an art form.”
