Jalen Ramsey Appears to Address Rams Trade Rumors in Pointed Tweet

He sent a tweet just minutes after a report that a trade from L.A. is likely.

Jalen Ramsey’s future with the Rams appears to be very uncertain. Los Angeles followed up a Super Bowl win with a rough 5–12 season, and are now reportedly interested in moving on from the talented but expensive cornerback.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Friday that league sources believe it is “very likely” that Ramsey is traded over the next few weeks. He is set to make $17 million in 2023, with a cap hit of over $25 million.

Ramsey doesn’t generally shy away from public speculation about his future, and that was the case on Friday night.

“The ‘story’ sounds better than the truth sometimes I’ll admit that....” he tweeted just minutes after Pelissero’s report. “I live in the truth tho. God is so great! I am blessed & highly favored!”

The report and Ramsey’s response come less than two weeks after he responded to speculation that L.A. may outright release him this offseason.

Bleacher Report posted a graphic with the Patriots, Raiders, Lions, Seahawks, Steelers and Bengals tabbed as potential landing spots for Ramsey, should he hit free agency. His message was even more clear then: “100% chance I WONT get cut 😂… God bless tho.”

There should be plenty of teams interested in adding Ramsey, one of the NFL’s most accomplished corners, for the upcoming season. For the Rams, who are nearly $15 million over the salary cap at the moment, offloading him could be a necessary move.
