While he still has yet to sign an extension with the Chiefs, star defensive tackle Chris Jones doesn’t appear to be going anywhere—ever. While on Twitter, Jones wrote that he’s grateful and one fan asked if an extension announcement was imminent, leading Jones to make a bold proclamation.

“I’m a chief for life,” he wrote on Twitter. “I will not play for another franchise.”

Needless to say, it appears the 28-year-old is hellbent on getting a deal done. He’s scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in 2024.

Jones was drafted by Kansas City in 2016 where he went on to have a stellar career. He has been selected to four straight Pro Bowls and has been named All-Pro four times as a staple of the two-time Super Bowl-winning defense.

This past season, he tallied 15.5 sacks, 44 tackles and forced two fumbles while never missing a game for the Chiefs. Obviously, anything can happen down the road. But for now, it doesn’t appear as if Jones will ever entertain putting on another jersey.
