The Texans are expected to sign Bills backup quarterback Case Keenum to a two-year deal, John McClain of Gallery Sports reported on Monday.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Keenum’s deal is worth $6.25 million with $4 million guaranteed.

The 35-year-old will return to the team that picked him up in 2012 after he went undrafted.

Keenum likely will serve as a backup in Houston, too, as the Texans are expected to select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

The Texans had some quarterbacking issues at the end of the 2022 season. Davis Mills started in 15 games, but backup Kyle Allen made two starts while Mills was benched at one point. As of now, Mills remains on the roster with two years remaining on his Texans contract.

Last season, Keenum served as Josh Allen’s backup with the Bills. He didn’t get any starts, but he appeared in two games. Over a decade-long NFL career, Keenum has completed 62.3% of his passes for 14,884 yards with 78 touchdowns and 48 interceptions.
