Eagles Agree to Sign RB Rashaad Penny, per Report
The defending NFC champions’ offense—already stellar—will reportedly add an intriguing new piece.
The Eagles have agreed to a contract with running back Rashaad Penny, according to a Tuesday afternoon report from ESPN's Ian Rapoport.
Penny has played his entire career to date with the Seahawks, who drafted him with the No. 27 pick out of San Diego State in 2018. With the Aztecs, he rushed for 3,656 yards and ran back seven kicks for touchdowns, an FBS record.
The California native has struggled to stay on the field, playing just 42 games in five years. His injury history includes a torn ACL in 2019 and a broken fibula in 2022.
When healthy, Penny has produced. In 10 games in 2021, he rushed for 749 yards on 119 attempts. His average of 6.3 yards per carry led the league and ranks second in franchise history for a single-season behind quarterback Russell Wilson's 7.2 in 2014.
