Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson received the non-exclusive franchise tag from Baltimore ahead of the start of NFL free agency last week.

The non-exclusive franchise tag means that opposing teams could tender Jackson an offer sheet, with the Ravens having the option to either match the offer or let Jackson walk in exchange for two future first-round picks. Under the non-exclusive franchise tag, Jackson is slated to make $32.4 million in 2023 if he remains with the Ravens and doesn’t sign a long-term contract extension.

Amid the tumultuous situation between Jackson and the Ravens, the quarterback teased an upcoming interview with a clip on his personal Instagram page.

Jackson said in the video that the biggest adjustment to the NFL game coming out of college was the change in terminology between the playbook at Louisville and Marty Mornhinweg’s West Coast offense when Mornhinweg was the Ravens offensive coordinator.

Jackson’s answer was to a question that began with the idea of teams across the NFL labeling him more as a running back than a quarterback.

Jackson won the NFL MVP in 2019, and has been the catalyst to the high-powered Ravens offense ever since taking over the starting role from Joe Flacco early in his career.

While it’s unclear if Jackson will receive the lucrative long-term contract that he is seeking, there’s no doubt that his playing ability speaks for itself.

However, it sounds like the quarterback is ready to answer some tough questions about how he has been treated this offseason.
