The Browns are signing quarterback Joshua Dobbs back to the team on a one-year deal, Dobbs’s agent Mike McCartney announced on Tuesday.

Dobbs was signed to a one-year deal with the Browns last April, in which he played as Jacoby Brissett’s backup quarterback until he was waived on Nov. 28, after Deshaun Watson returned to the team after his suspension. Watson missed 11 games last season due to violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The investigation came after a total of 26 civil complaints were filed against Watson, describing graphic accounts of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Now Dobbs will backup Watson after Brissett signed with the Commanders last week. Dobbs has yet to make his Browns debut as he never took the field last season for Cleveland.

Dobbs started two games for the Titans after he was picked up in December. The Titans lost both games, in which Dobbs completed 40 of 68 pass attempts for 411 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Prior to last season, Dobbs played two seasons on the Steelers as a backup quarterback to Ben Roethlisberger. Dobbs has appeared in eight games over the course of his pro career.
