Falcons to Host Former Ravens DE Calais Campbell in Free Agency Visit, per Report
Just a week after being released by the Ravens, six-time Pro Bowler Calais Campbell is scheduled to visit the Falcons this week as he mulls his free agency choices, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Campbell, 36, would be entering his 16th season if he decided to sign with Atlanta or any other team. He has had stints with the Cardinals, Jaguars and Ravens during the course of his long career that includes three All-Pro selections and the 2019 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.
The defensive end appeared in 14 games this past season and tallied 5.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hits and 36 total tackles. Revered and respected across the NFL, the Ravens had nothing but good things to say about Campbell when they released him and the Falcons would likely sign him for the same assets mentioned in the statement from his former team.
“Calais defines what it is to be a Raven,” Ravens executive vice president and general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement earlier this month. “He personifies professionalism, and his contributions to our organization—both on and off the field—are immense. With his passion, leadership and toughness, Calais has undoubtedly produced a Hall of Fame-worthy career.”
